STARLIGHT

I think about home a lot

I think about where I’ve been

It’s not that I forgot

That my thick skin was thin

Familiar all too much

Although we cannot touch

A past that’s too far gone

The lightening’s in the dawn

Now I’ll stop looking back

On that old heart attack

I can, I can, breathe again

Though I will not leave you when

I am, older, bolder

With starlight on my shoulder

On my shoulder

The river takes it all

And how we once felt small

And you could take the blame

But we won’t play that game

The calm can happen slow

And once you get to know

A peace that can reside

And anchor deep inside

The dust begins to clear

And I’m still standing here

I can, I can, breathe again

Though I will not leave you when

I am, older, bolder

With starlight on my shoulder

On my shoulder

I can, I can, breathe

I can, I can, breathe

I can, I can, breathe

I can, I can, breathe
